Revolution by Thanksgiving?
In a Japanese newspaper interview with Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, he announced that he will be releasing it around the American Thanksgiving in order to recieve plenty of support before the year-end holiday battle.
"We can't disclose the Revolution's release period yet, but we have no plans to miss out on the year-end sales battle. As for North America, we need to release it by Thanksgiving, or otherwise we won't receive support from the retail industry. So the Revolution will be released prior to that period." - Satoru Iwata
This is the first mention of an actual date Nintendo has given. Much is still desired as far as information about the next-gen Nintendo, especially an exact price, but Iwata won't have us worry.
"Even if it's a superb machine, it's not going to sell if it's 50,000 yen ($434). We plan to make [the Revolution] an affordable price." -Satoru Iwata
Traditionally Nintendo has never released a system for over $250. We can expect more news this May.
