Xbox Live Arcade versus the world

Greg Canessa, group manager of the Xbox Live Arcade, went on record saying that Nintendo's retro-title download service will be a novelty at best. He says that their service, which offers classic titles from the NES, SNES and N64 won't hold-up gameplay wise. "To be honest with you, a lot of those games are fun in your head when you think, 'Oh, yeah when I was 12, this was really fun,' and you have these great nostalgic reasons to play them. Then you do play them, and they're just not very fun anymore." He also mentions that Sony's going to have a very hard time catching up in the Live department, not to even mention implementing an Arcade style system. Lastly, he mentions that the developer interest in the Arcade has grown five-fold since E3 last year, developers now wanting to publish 10-12 titles each, as opposed to their 2-3 before. Things are looking good for retro and indie games fans.
