For a mere $60 USD your school can order a student copy of the Halo theme for orchestra players! Isn't that great? You could rock out to the Mjolnir mix at school assemblies, or go and play The Last Spartan for old folks.

Found this video on Joystiq, it's really funny. Don't know why, but it just is. Ah who am I kidding, he kicks a frog! IT'S AWESOME!
The guys from Kotaku, along with several other games bloggers were given an opportunity to sit down for breakfast with the dudes who run the XBL Arcade. Hints were dished that educational games may premiere in the future. There was also mention that Microsoft points may be able to download you PC games in the future. No titles or details announced, but it looks promising.
“Hello Everyone,

Just for all those people waiting for spore, here is a game to tide you over till it's release.
Either some lame April fools joke or a legitimate scoop, this is sounding really cool. What better way to waste those extra few gigs on your hardrive than to play a game you could go and buy for $10? If this goes well, hopefully we'll see other XBO games on the marketplace. Provided this one actually comes.
Comics and games fans rejoice as Bungie teams up with Marvel to bring you, The Halo Graphic Novel. Xbox Canada's charity auctions for the cool celebrity-made faceplates have started. Check them out, you might find something you like. Or grow a heart and care for poor children. Either way eBay wins.
"The Specialist", a computer hacker, claims he has cracked the 360's DVD firmware, enabling him to run burned games. He says he is not planning to release the hack any time soon, fearing the crushing hand of Gates. Whether this is a legitimate excuse or he just doesn't have it done, I don't know. But if it is, that'd be one of the fasted mod-jobs ever.
“I would say that we are progressing well with completing it,” says Miyamoto. “And one of the most important features is that, because Revolution can run GameCube software, when you play Twilight Princess on Revolution you can take advantage of the Revolution controller.”
In a conference today Rare announced their next Xbox 360 title, Viva Pinata. It looks like a strange mix of Pokemon, Dora the Explorer, The Sims, and Nintendogs. The game features colourful pinata animals that you must help "grow, fight, and even dance!" all while maintaining and enhancing the island they live on with your personal creative flair. This seems to be the first game to use the tagline "Make Xbox360 yours", involving the player more in the creative process of the games. The game will also coincide with a 4Kids show on Fox and the normal lines of marketing that follow. The game looks like alot of odd fun, probably not for "hardcore" players, but I'll probably play it. I know Zando will.
A press conference was held yesterday to give out details on the PSP and PS3. Including a new launch date, more pricing ruours and other interesting tidbits we're starting to see something from Sony. Here's a breakdown of everything that was said. More details oming as I find them.
Dang those Japanese love their touchscreens. Between the DS and the DS Lite Well over 100,000 units sold this week. Compared to every other system combined totaling about 70,000 sold, the Japanese have little time to waste on next-gen gaming or even past-gen gaming for that matter. The rush for the handhelds has been super strong and won't let up. For proof check the video below, they're brawling in the streets to get them!
No, that doesn't mean "up to date". Activision has stated that the next installment of the series will take place in modern day middle east. You'll be fighting terrorists and all that jazz to help bring "fear" to an end. You'd think you'd start off with something smaller like "nervousness" or "discomfort" before you worked into "fear". Whatever.
Immersion, a haptic technology company sued both Sony and Microsoft for patent infringement in 2003. The case claimed they both used Immersion's ideas in their controllers. Microsoft managed to avoid things peacefully (expensively) but Sony went to court. Sony has lost and the court ruled Sony must suspend the sale of "Playstation consoles, Dualshock controllers," and a few dozens of games (Vice City, Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid 2 and more). Sony filed for an appeal, and is allowed to sell their products while the decision is being made.
The Wall Street Journal this morning reported a federal judge rejected the appeal and upheld the original decision (including the $90.7 million payment). Sony's main defence; a former paid consultant to Immersion, Craig Thorner submitted testimony on Sony's behalf. The US District Judge Claudia Wilken stated that Thorner was "unreliable" as a witness, citing "strong evidence" to suggest Thorner's testimony was affected by the $150,000 Sony paid him as "advance royalty" to license Thorner's patents in the future.
It seems possible Sony may have to halt production on the Playstations, as well as many of the best-selling titles. This be the reason for Sony's boomerang PS3 controller. If the PS3 can't use the force feedback technology from the past, how will this affect backwards compatibility? Looks like someone's got a bumpy road to launch.
